TODDLER TIME

NOW ENROLLING!

Join SSNS teacher Scott Mitchell in a class designed to enhance the relationship between toddlers and their parents, and develop preschool readiness for both. 

Mr. Scott will engage parents and children in developmentally appropriate activities and provide a forum for discussion of parenting challenges while having fun! Activities include art, music, games and story time.

​

The six-week session takes place on Thursdays from 9:45 to 11am. Suggested age range 18–26 months (flexible)

THE 2's CLASS

The two-year-olds meet either Mondays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30am – noon, with a maximum of 8 children. The basic goals of the two-year-old program are to encourage the intellectual growth of each child, help each child develop socially, support and encourage the tremendous growth in physical abilities experienced by twos, and encourage mastery of the environment—which leads to self-confidence and emotional growth. During the year, the play progresses from parallel play, to play that is interactive with classmates.

THE 3's CLASS

The three-year-olds meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:30am – 1:00pm, with a maximum of 16 children. The teacher sets up a variety of activities, which encourage children to explore and experiment in social situations, math skills, science procedures, social studies, art materials, and language arts development. They acquire physical growth, increase understanding, and gain knowledge in a safe and supportive environment. Helping the children to learn communication and social skills is our most important goal.

THE 4/5's CLASS

The four-year-olds meet Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30am – 1:00pm, with a maximum of 16 children. The class explores mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts. There are numerous craft projects and musical opportunities as well as special field trips. The teacher works throughout the year to transition the children from an open classroom environment to the challenges and expectations of kindergarten.
